Pushing the Boundaries of Off-Site Construction
As the first regional manufacturer of the FRAMECAD® design and build system in New England, we are proud to be an innovative leader in our industry. We are driven to continually improve to help customers build faster and smarter.
Three members of our team attended the recent Advancing Prefab 2020 in Dallas. It is North America’s leading conference exclusively focused on off-site construction and industrialized manufacturing approaches. The 3-day agenda was jam-packed with sessions and networking opportunities to propel prefab and modular construction to the next level.
With the fast pace of growth projected for 2020 and beyond, the biggest challenge for fabricators is figuring out how to best set up projects for success to maximize overall profitability. Here are the three most important take-aways that our team brought back from the conference:
1. Streamline set-up, procedures, and documentation. Early pre-production planning and standardization can ensure that the right information is collected at the right time by the right people throughout the project lifecycle.
2. Be willing to push boundaries in producing critical infrastructure for large-scale projects. Analyzing initial project designs early in the process can bring multiple teams together on the same page to explore phasing options, manage high demand, and map out logistics.
3. Maximize constructability of designs with design-assist. Technology and software can support communicating the vision of the design team from CAD to production.
The bottom line is that successful prefabrication requires the right mindset of all involved to embrace a collaborative approach to project delivery and that advanced planning and coordination can accelerate on-site construction schedules.
We are more energized than ever to keep pushing boundaries. Now is the time for forward-thinking owners and architects to contact us to see how we can help you meet aggressive project schedules.
