During this time of social distancing and working from home, Network Framing Solutions (NFS) is offering a remote course in building with off-site construction.
AEC firms can host virtual lunch & learn events for staff members to earn CES credits from AIA Connecticut. The 1-hour program cover key learning objectives including:
• Terminology of prefabricated products and systems
• Planning and design with prefabrication
• Lean construction
• Just-in-time supply chain fulfillment
• The effect of prefabrication on project schedules, site waste, quality, and site safety
The instructor for the program is Melissa Sheffy, a member of the AIA Connecticut Continuing Education Committee, and owner of NFS and Network Interiors, a commercial contractor. “Off-site prefabrication is no longer an emerging trend. It has become the new normal in construction,” said Sheffy. “We are proud to offer this program for AIA members to take advantage of new technologies to build better, faster, and maximize profits for owners.”
